L.I. Flooring

LI Flooring (or L.I. Flooring) are a Polish outfit of a guy (Ivan) and his girlfriend fitting laminate and solid wood floors for cash. They usually advertise on ‘Gumtree’. I used them twice (dining room and lounge/hallway) and although intially the job looked very good they do not leave any EXPANSION GAPS. The floor is now warping and lifting in places. Ivan does not return any calls, texts or e-mails. It is clear that as soon as there is a problem, it’s YOUR problem. I supplied the flooring and materials and it will cost me again to hire someone else to sort this mess out. There is no need for him to conduct business in this unprofessional way so I’d advise you to avoid using this company. Use a more reputable company to fit your floor with proper guarantees to return if the work is wrong. Although Ivan seemed alright it just goes to show you.

Mills Plumbing & Heating Services

Mills Plumbing & Heating Services: Pros: I was very happy with the standard of work, the two tradesmen turned up when they said they would and put in my new combi boiler and didnt leave any mess. They also fixed a radiator which wasnt working which was good.

Cons: They were quite busy had to wait about a week but as they recommended to me by friends I would rather wait than get someone I dont know.

James Blunt Carpentry

James Blunt Carpentry: James was engaged to build some bespoke DVD cupboards in our living room, a radiator cover and to do an awful lot of snagging following some minor building works.

James works to a very high standard and has produced everything we asked for. Estimates were promptly prepared and the whole business is run with efficiency and courtesy.

James is a very good carpenter who works hard and is always thoroughly professional. We’ll definitely engage him again and are very happy to recommend him.

A Stephen Building Services Ltd: Aaron has now completed a number of projects for us over the years which include a conservatory, kitchen/diner (knock through) and garden decking. All have been finished to a very high standard and at a reasonable price. Our home was always left tidy at the end of the day which meant we had a very stress free experience, he even took us to the yard to let us choose the bricks we wanted.
